One of the most remote and least-visited national parks in South America — for travelers who want nature beyond the tourist trail El Impenetrable National Park is one of the wildest and least-visited territories in Argentina. With no paved roads into its interior, wildlife that still moves freely, and a Chaco forest that demands full attention, this park offers something mass-tourism destinations can no longer provide: the genuine feeling of being somewhere truly remote. The Huella Impenetrable — the only departure with spots still available — is designed for travelers who want real physical engagement: a 15 km trek through the Chaco forest following the Bermejito River, an overnight at a wilderness refuge, and a 13 km kayak return. All with careful logistics, all meals included, and accommodation that surprises with its level of comfort in the middle of the wild. Travelers who want to extend the experience can add an optional overnight at Bañado La Estrella, one of the most impressive wetlands in northern Argentina. Dates: August 23 to 27 Price per traveler: ARS 1,349,000 Arrival in Resistencia, regional lunch and transfer into the Chaco forest. Payment options: This journey is for travelers who want real nature, minimally disturbed landscapes and an experience that stands apart from mainstream destinations. Huella Impenetrable is designed for travelers who enjoy active travel: long hikes, physical challenge and the intensity of spending nights in the wild, without sacrificing good rest or organized logistics. If you like to move, to earn the landscape and to end the day knowing you've been somewhere very few people ever go — this is your trip. El Impenetrable National Park is located in northern Chaco Province, Argentina, within one of the least-disturbed areas of the Gran Chaco ecosystem — the second largest forest in South America after the Amazon. It is one of the largest and least-visited national parks in the country, which gives it a genuine sense of remoteness. El Impenetrable is one of the most biodiverse areas in northern Argentina. Common sightings include collared and white-lipped peccaries, tapirs, giant anteaters, howler monkeys, caimans, iguanas, foxes and a wide variety of Chaco bird species. Pumas and jaguars also inhabit the park, though direct sightings are rare. For birdwatchers, the Chaco forest is exceptionally rich in endemic and hard-to-find species. Yes. El Impenetrable is one of Argentina's most important jaguar conservation areas, with individuals regularly documented by camera traps. Direct sightings are extremely rare, but the species is present and actively monitored within the park. The fall and winter months (May to August) offer the best conditions: more comfortable temperatures, lower humidity and better wildlife activity near water sources. August in particular combines good weather with increased wildlife concentrations along the rivers. Good general fitness is required. The Day 2 trek covers approximately 15 km on natural terrain without major elevation changes, but in the heat and humidity of the Chaco forest. The Day 3 kayak covers 13 km with the current and requires no prior experience. This is not an extreme adventure, but it is genuinely active travel. Yes. Accommodation is selected specifically so that the environment doesn't mean sacrificing rest: glamping with private bathroom, a campsite with platform tents and cots, and a properly equipped refuge. All meals are included and the entire logistics are handled by the team. Yes. It's an optional overnight add-on at Fortín La Soledad with sunset and sunrise outings at one of the most impressive wetlands in northern Argentina. August 23 to 27. Maximum 7 travelers.
