Expedition to the Heart of the Argentine Chaco
Impenetrable & Bañado La Estrella – August 2025
A deep connection with nature and our culture
This was one of the most beautiful trips we've taken. A complete and challenging expedition that combined physical adventure, cultural immersion, and unique landscapes of northern Argentina. For five days, we explored on foot, by kayak, and by boat some of the most extraordinary corners of the Gran Chaco and the wetlands of Formosa — a journey we will never forget.
Our group included two friends from Mendoza and a lovely family — a mother and her three children — who enthusiastically joined every activity. We shared hikes, riverside conversations, and unexpected discoveries. Among them, several sightings like a skunk, a black-crowned night heron, and other beautiful birds that gave us unforgettable moments.
The connection between both destinations was as magical as their diversity: we began in the dry forests of the Chaco, slept under the stars, and were welcomed by local families. Then we crossed the Bermejo River and entered the Bañado La Estrella, a sea of submerged trees, birds, and silence that gifted us moving sunrises and emotional farewells.
Without a doubt, the boat ride back under the stars, surrounded by nocturnal bird calls, will remain one of those memories that resurface unexpectedly and bring a smile to our faces.
