An adventure in Ansenuza
July 28–31, 2025
Parque Nacional Ansenuza – Córdoba, Argentina
After dreaming about it for so long, we finally made our first winter journey to Ansenuza come true. It was a short escape but filled with experiences and learning. The group was warm and diverse, with birdwatchers, nature lovers and photographers all sharing special moments together.
A sea of birds and color
We began by exploring the bays of La Para and Marull, welcomed by endless skies, flocks of flamingos and a peaceful silence. The sunset bathed the wetlands in gold, giving us a first day full of wonder and calm.
When nature sets the pace
Rain prevented us from reaching Rancho Viejo, but we adapted and explored the beauty of Villa Mar instead. A gentle walk along the lagoon’s shore gifted us more flamingos and an unexpected surprise — a shy armadillo that thrilled everyone!
Landscapes that stay with you
The boat ride through Miramar’s great salty lagoon gave us otherworldly views: submerged ruins, birds in flight, and the feeling of navigating another planet. In the afternoon, we settled into a perfectly positioned bird hide and captured dreamlike photos, many adding new “lifers” to their list.
A farewell among reeds
Before returning, we walked the Lomas de los Indios Trail along the lagoon’s edge. Surrounded by reeds and herons, we shared a final moment of peace and connection — a serene farewell with full hearts.
A short journey, a lasting memory
This trip reminded us that it doesn’t take many days or distant places to live something transformative. Ansenuza revealed a different face of Argentina’s nature: subtle, powerful, and deeply moving.
